Paris, 2007: Arriving at CDG airport
As some of you may have read in an earlier post, I sent my camera away for service last week. It haven´t come back yet, so I´m trying to cope with the Iphone camera. Not very funny in this cold weather, though.
On top of that, UPS dropped by yesterday with my new lens, the legendary Pentax FA 31mm f1.8 Limited. It is said to be amongst the very best there is (it shure costs like one), and all I can do right now without my camera is to look at it. Darn.
Anyway. My plan is learn to shot with this lens for the next couple of months. If it turns out well this baby is going to be my lens on my trip to Paris in the end of march.
The image above is from a photo trip to Paris in 2007, shot at Charles de Gaulle Airport, and one of my first shots ever in France.
I am a big fan of your photography so my opinions may be somewhat suspect, but I do think I can add this to my list of favorites without too much criticism :) Very nice.
I’ve got the 31mm and I it’s great but (apart from focal length differences) the one I truly love is the 43mm.
Ah – the 43mm…! I´ve seen a lot of praise for that gem too, but in my case I think it would be a bit to long for me. To bad, since it would have been a lot easier on my wallet to get that one. :)
But my cunning plan is to see if the 31mm can release me from my 21mm addiction. Those extra f-stops and the higher image quality the FA31 has shure would be nice to use more often.
And thanks for the comment on the image, Nikhil. I may have posted it before, but I still like it, so I see nothing wrong in doing some hard drive archeology every now and then :)
nice aesthetics going on in that photograph jimmy, very crisp and clean. The atmosphere is futuristic, almost as if it were set a hundred years farther on and this window shows the world we once lived.
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the FA 31mm. ever since your post on the 21mm I’ve been strongly considering it :)
happy shooting!
Thanks, Johnny. Yes, exciting times ahead …
Ps. This image is shot with the DA21. It´s a fantastic performer :)
