Urban Picknick street competition 2014
Oh my god – I made it to the finals in the annual Urban Picknick Street Photography competition this year! UPSP is – in my opinion – of the heavy institutions of international street photography and I am very proud to be one of 50 street photographers on their list.
If you are into street photography you have to check this top 50 out – this is 100% top notch street.
The image they have chosen is one I shot last year at the beach in Playa de Palma, Mallorca. I did not talk to the girls on the picture, but they are probably from the eastern Europe (or Russia), since they seem to have a culture of standing up on their beaches. A journalist friend of mine told me they do this because of dirty beaches, which sounds plausible to me. :)
