Heavy snow fall and just below the freezing point today. Of course, that didn´t stop people from preparing for christmas. It would have been interesting to hear what the little guy was saying to the father. Maybe he prefered the reindeer over a more traditional christmas tree?
Love this photo. Reminds me of when I was growing up in the 50’s. My dad would take the family downtown (small town) on Christmas Eve to the Volunteer Firefighters lot to see what trees were left. Never realized that it was because we couldn’t afford something really good, but only what was left over. However, we seemed to always get a great tree and Dad was always happy with the way he would talk the price down. We’d go home and spend the rest of the evening decorating the tree.
Funny, seeing this photo brought all that back. Thanks for the memory… :-)
It´s amazing that one image can trigger emotions and memories like that. And I think it also shows that how the street photos are recieved depends very much on the viewers own experiences.
Thanks for a wonderful comment, Glenn.
